In a significant move, the Department of Immigration, Passports, and Nationality at the Ministry of Interior announced the issuance of 95,794 passports across its branches in the liberated provinces and foreign missions during the past month of July.
Distribution of Passport Issuances
The detailed statistics, shared by the security media, reveal a wide distribution of passport issuances. Foreign missions accounted for 34,024 of these passports, highlighting the global reach of Yemen’s immigration services. The main service center in the temporary capital, Aden, issued 14,492 passports, showcasing its central role in the process. Other notable distributions include 13,038 passports in Aden, 11,325 in Taiz, 7,913 in Marib, 5,041 in Shabwah, 4,712 in Seiyun, 2,398 in the coastal region of Hadhramaut, 1,671 through the passports office in Al Mahrah province, 1,018 in Al Khawkhah, and 162 in Socotra.
Warning Against Illegally Issued Passports
The Ministry of Interior’s Department of Immigration, Passports, and Nationality has issued a stern warning regarding the acceptance or use of passports issued by the Houthi terrorist militias. These passports are deemed illegal and carry significant legal and criminal responsibilities for those who accept or deal with them.
