Houthi Militias Arrest Judge and Lawyers in Al Hudaydah
The Yemeni Network for Rights and Freedoms reported on Wednesday that Houthi militias have detained a judge and two lawyers while they performed their professional duties in Al Hudaydah province.

According to the network’s statement, militia members, led by Aziz Abdullah Al-Jaradi, arrested Judge Mohammed Al-Salili along with lawyers Aziz Al-Dhabibi and Nidal Al-Hamiri. The arrests occurred during their field visit to assess a legal dispute. The authorities took them to the security department without any legal warrant.
Condemnation of the Incident
The network condemned the incident, viewing it as a direct assault on the independence of the judiciary and a violation of the rule of law. They emphasized that detaining a judge or lawyer for performing their professional duties constitutes a serious breach of legal guarantees and obstructs the course of justice.
Call for Immediate Action
The network has called for the immediate release of the detained individuals and urged an independent investigation to hold those responsible accountable. They warned that continued such practices threaten the remaining judicial institutions and foster an environment of impunity.
