Health Minister discusses Handicap Intl’s healthcare interventions with its Country Director.

In a meeting held today in the temporary capital, Aden, Dr. Qasim Buhaibeh, the Minister of Public Health and Population, discussed health-related issues with Richma Azmi, the Regional Director of Handicap International. Dr. Buhaibeh emphasized the importance of strengthening the bilateral relations between the ministry and the organization. He highlighted the need to align interventions with the ministry’s vision of capacity building and the development of collaborative efforts to enhance health institutes. This includes supporting the improvement of infrastructure and the quality of educational curriculums to ensure the graduation of qualified personnel capable of providing high-quality services, especially in the fields of prosthetics and physical therapy.

On her part, the Regional Director of Handicap International outlined the variety of services provided by the organization. These services notably include interventions in physical therapy and rehabilitation for individuals with disabilities, as well as psychological and social support for disabled individuals. She also discussed the organization’s efforts in raising awareness about the dangers of landmines and promoting livelihood opportunities.
