In a significant meeting on Wednesday, Major General Aidarus Al-Zubaidi, a member of the Presidential Leadership Council, urged for united efforts to enhance local, international, and regional cooperation. His focus lies on securing international navigation in the Red Sea, Bab al-Mandab Strait, and the Gulf of Aden. He specifically called for an end to the terrorism perpetrated by the Iranian-backed Houthi militia in this critical maritime corridor.

International Community’s Role in Addressing Houthi Aggression

During the meeting with Indian Ambassador to Yemen, Suhail Ijaz Khan, Al-Zubaidi stressed the need for a decisive stance from the international community. He highlighted the escalating actions of the Houthi militia, which pose a direct threat to global peace and security. The call for action emphasizes the urgency of addressing this growing menace.

He expressed India’s commitment to strengthening bilateral relations with Yemen, especially amid the current challenges facing the area. The ambassador also indicated that the Indian government is prepared to escalate humanitarian assistance to alleviate the suffering of the Yemeni people, who continue to endure the economic hardships stemming from ongoing conflicts.
