Foreign ministers from eight countries condemn Israeli statements calling for the displacement of Palestinians from Gaza.

Ministers Condemn Israeli Officials’ Remarks on Palestinian Displacement

Foreign ministers from Saudi Arabia, Jordan, the UAE, Qatar, Egypt, Turkey, Indonesia, and Pakistan have strongly condemned statements made by Israeli National Security Minister Itamar Ben Gvir and Defense Minister Yoav Gallant regarding the displacement of the Palestinian people from Gaza. These remarks included plans and mechanisms aimed at forcibly removing Palestinians from their land.

Clear Violation of International Law

In a joint statement, the ministers asserted that these incendiary comments represent a clear violation of international law and humanitarian principles. They pose a direct threat to the legitimate and inalienable rights of the Palestinian people.

Firm Rejection of Displacement Plans

The ministers emphasized their unwavering rejection of any attempts or schemes aimed at displacing Palestinians, whether within the occupied territories or beyond. They warned of the severe consequences that could arise if these calls were to be transformed into official policies or practical measures targeting the uprooting of Palestinians from their homeland.

Undermining Peace Efforts

Furthermore, the ministers noted that such actions directly challenge international efforts to achieve peace. This includes the international plan to end the conflict in Gaza, which categorically rejects forced displacement. They cautioned that these developments could significantly undermine stability in the region.

Gaza: An Integral Part of Palestinian Territory

The statement reaffirmed that Gaza is an integral part of the occupied Palestinian territory. Maintaining the unity of Palestinian land in Gaza and the West Bank, including East Jerusalem, is essential and cannot be compromised.

Two-State Solution as the Only Path to Peace

The ministers stressed that the only viable path to achieving a just and lasting peace lies in the implementation of the two-state solution. This solution envisions the establishment of an independent Palestinian state along the borders of June 4, 1967, with East Jerusalem as its capital, in accordance with international resolutions.

Call for UN Security Council Action

The foreign ministers urged the United Nations Security Council to fulfill its responsibilities by addressing any attempts to impose a new demographic or geographic reality in the occupied Palestinian territories. They called for the enforcement of international law and reiterated their full support for the resilience of the Palestinian people, rejecting all attempts to erase the Palestinian cause or undermine their rights.
