Emergency forces take control of key points on the international road in Al-Abra and launch a comprehensive security campaign.

Emergency Forces Secure Key Points on International Route

On Wednesday, the First Brigade – Emergency Forces announced the successful takeover of key points along the international route in the Al-Abr region. This operation spans from the Al-Nasser Complex, through the Al-Abr Junction, to the international road leading to Hadramout Valley and Desert. This initiative forms part of a broader security plan aimed at securing vital roads and protecting international travel routes.

Enhancing Security for Travelers

The Emergency Forces emphasized that this action supports efforts to enhance security and stability for travelers. It also aims to combat smuggling, pursue wanted individuals, and prevent any attacks that could threaten citizens’ lives. These measures contribute significantly to securing international roads and improving overall safety.

Comprehensive Security and Service Campaign

Simultaneously, the forces launched a comprehensive security and service campaign to eliminate violations in the Al-Abr Directorate along the international route. The campaign includes:

  • Removal of unauthorized kiosks selling cigarettes and khat
  • Clearing waste from roads and public areas
  • Prohibiting the establishment of stalls outside designated sites
  • Closing shops selling weapons and ammunition
  • Preventing illegal collections
  • Securing routes leading to Mareb, Al-Wadiah, and Hadramout

Strict Regulations on Firearms

The leadership of the First Brigade – Emergency Forces also announced a ban on carrying personal firearms without an official permit from the relevant authorities. Additionally, carrying more than one firearm requires an approved operational report. These regulations aim to enforce order and prevent armed displays.

Ensuring Smooth Transit

These measures seek to bolster security in one of the country’s most critical transit corridors, ensuring the smooth movement of travelers and goods along the international route.
