According to the daily report from the Ministry of Health, the total number of confirmed cases has risen to 452 since the announcement of the rare Bundibugyo strain outbreak on May 15. The confirmed death toll now stands at 82. Most infections occur in the Ituri province in the northeastern part of the country, a remote area struggling with inadequate healthcare and ongoing insecurity. Additionally, six cases have been reported in North Kivu province, with confirmed cases also detected in Uganda.
