Minister of Defense Highlights the Significance of the Third Military Region

During a recent visit to the Third Military Region in Marib, Minister of Defense Major General Taher Al-Aqeeli emphasized the region’s vital role in Yemen’s fight against the Iran-backed Houthi militias. He described the Third Military Region as a symbol of national pride for both the Yemeni people and the armed forces, recognizing the immense sacrifices made by its members.

Leadership Acknowledged

Al-Aqeeli conveyed greetings from the political and military leadership, including President Dr. Rashad Muhammad Al-Alimi, the Supreme Commander of the Armed Forces, and Prime Minister Shaif Al-Zandani. He paid tribute to the fallen leaders of the Third Military Region, such as Major General Abdulrab Al-Shadadi, Major General Ahmed Al-Yafai, and Major General Nasser Al-Dhibani, who bravely defended the revolution and the republic.

Strengthening Military Readiness

The Minister praised the combat readiness, training, and organizational skills of the Third Military Region. He highlighted its crucial role in maintaining security and stability, securing international routes, and protecting civilians and travelers.

In response, Major General Mansour Thawaba, the commander of the Third Military Region, expressed gratitude for the Minister’s visit, which he deemed a significant morale boost for the troops in the field. He reaffirmed that the region remains a stronghold of the republic and the revolution.
