The Customs Authority announced today the successful seizure of motors and electronic components intended for use in unmanned aerial vehicles (UAVs) at the Aden Free Zone customs facility.
The confiscated items included 180 smart servo motors, which play a crucial role in maneuvering drone wings and deploying payloads. These motors can also be utilized in robotics. In addition, the customs officials seized 1,760 pieces of various electronic boards and sensors. These components are essential for controlling motor movements, managing power supply, detecting gases, and avoiding unexpected aerial obstacles.
Mohsen Qahtan, the Director General of the Aden Free Zone Customs, spoke to the Yemeni News Agency (Saba) about the dedication of customs employees. He emphasized their commitment to executing their duties and responsibilities effectively. Qahtan reaffirmed that they will not tolerate the importation of goods that could jeopardize national, regional, or international security. He praised the vigilance of customs staff in intercepting such strategic shipments.
The proactive measures taken by the Customs Authority highlight their role in safeguarding the nation’s security. By intercepting these drone components, they contribute to maintaining stability in the region. This incident underscores the importance of rigorous customs enforcement in preventing potential threats.
