Urgent Solutions Needed for Yemen’s Economic Crisis

Leaders Call for Immediate Action

In a significant meeting held in Riyadh on Friday, members of the Presidential Leadership Council, Major General Aidarus al-Zubaidi and Sheikh Sultan bin Ali al-Aradah, emphasized the urgent need for solutions to Yemen’s ongoing economic crisis. This crisis stems from the destructive war ignited by the Houthi terrorist militias.

Discussion on Economic Conditions

During their discussions, the leaders reviewed the current economic situation in Yemen. They highlighted the efforts made by the Presidential Leadership Council, the government, and relevant state institutions to address these pressing issues. The leaders stressed that finding immediate solutions to the economic and living conditions faced by the Yemeni people must be a top priority. They specifically pointed to the collapse of the national currency and the deterioration of essential services.

Confronting Current Challenges

The meeting underscored the importance of unity in tackling the current challenges, particularly the threat posed by the Houthi militias. These groups have inflicted significant hardships on the population, affecting livelihoods and basic needs across both northern and southern regions of Yemen.

Confidence in Support from Allies

Both Major General al-Zubaidi and Sheikh al-Aradah expressed confidence in the support from regional allies and friends. They believe that this phase is crucial for revitalizing Yemen’s economy and safeguarding the achievements made thus far. Additionally, they aim to thwart the Houthi project, which is backed by the Iranian regime.

Attendees of the Meeting

The meeting also included the presence of Mohammed al-Ghaithi, head of the Consultation and Reconciliation Commission, and Dr. Nasser al-Khubji, a member of the commission.

This urgent call for action reflects the leaders’ commitment to addressing the economic challenges facing Yemen and restoring stability for its citizens.
