On Sunday, Tarik Saleh, a member of the Presidential Leadership Council, visited the sports facilities in Al-Mokha, located in the Taiz Governorate. During the tour, Saleh announced plans to establish a modern sports complex in Al-Mokha. He emphasized that the project will be designed according to the highest standards to meet the needs of athletes and support youth in the Taiz and Al-Hudaydah governorates.
In a separate development, Prime Minister Dr. Ahmed Awad bin Mubarak directed preparations for a national energy conference. This initiative aims to gather international support and funding for the government’s electricity sector strategy. The goal is to find sustainable solutions that ensure reliable service, which is essential for economic and social development, while also expanding the use of renewable energy sources.
During a Ramadan gathering in the temporary capital, Aden, the Prime Minister met with leaders from the Ministry of Electricity and Energy, the General Electricity Corporation, and Aden Electricity. He stressed the importance of coordination and partnership with the national private sector to organize the conference. He also called for a comprehensive work program that aligns with the government’s objectives to enhance generation capacity and renewable energy, leveraging Yemen’s resources.
Dr. bin Mubarak informed attendees about the outcomes of the Supreme Energy Council meeting and the importance of translating these decisions into actionable plans to address the upcoming summer’s electricity needs in Aden and liberated governorates. He underscored the necessity for all ministries and relevant entities to fulfill their responsibilities and hold accountable any shortcomings in performance, reinforcing the government’s commitment to accountability and transparency.
