Riyadh Meeting Focuses on Political and Humanitarian Developments

On Wednesday, Lieutenant General Aidarus al-Zubaidi, a member of the Presidential Leadership Council, emphasized the crucial role of the Gulf Cooperation Council (GCC) in fostering peace and restoring security in Yemen. This statement came during his meeting with Jasem al-Budaiwi, the Secretary-General of the GCC, in Riyadh, Saudi Arabia.

Discussion on Current Political and Humanitarian Issues

During their discussion, the two leaders reviewed the latest political and humanitarian developments in Yemen. They addressed the ongoing efforts by regional and international partners to end the conflict and support the peace process. Their conversation also highlighted the importance of restoring security and stability in the region.

The meeting also touched on the rapid developments in the region and their implications for Yemen’s humanitarian situation. Al-Zubaidi underscored the GCC’s vital support for the Presidential Leadership Council and the government. He mentioned that the GCC Secretariat looks forward to hosting an international food security conference in Yemen in the near future.

The meeting also included notable attendees such as Sarhan al-Munaiher, the head of the GCC mission to Yemen, Mohammed al-Ghaithi, the head of the Consultative and Reconciliation Authority supporting the Presidential Leadership Council, and Dr. Nasser al-Khubji, a member of the Consultative and Reconciliation Authority.

This meeting underscores the GCC’s ongoing commitment to peace and stability in Yemen, highlighting the collaborative efforts needed to address the country’s pressing challenges.
