In a significant demonstration of military readiness, the Chief of the General Staff and Commander of Joint Operations, Lieutenant General Saghir bin Aziz, presided over a live ammunition shooting exercise conducted by the training authority leadership on Tuesday. This event marked the commencement of the second phase of the ongoing 2024 training year, aligning with the directives from the General Staff’s presidency to enhance readiness and organize forces for combat readiness.
During the exercise, Lieutenant General bin Aziz conveyed the greetings and appreciation of the political and military leadership, represented by His Excellency Dr. Rashad Al-Alimi, President of the Presidential Leadership Council, along with all council members and the leadership of the Ministry of Defense, to the officers of the training authority, its affiliated departments, and staff branches.
Lieutenant General bin Aziz emphasized the importance of enhancing the combat capabilities of all armed forces personnel, maintaining combat readiness, and ensuring high security vigilance at all times. He praised the level of readiness, good preparation, and organization demonstrated in the execution of the shooting project.
Expressing his pride and esteem, the Chief of Staff lauded the high level of skills and capabilities displayed by the officers of the training authority, its affiliated departments, and staff branches during the live ammunition shooting exercise.
Lieutenant General bin Aziz also highlighted the ongoing violations committed by the Houthi militias, backed by Iran, against the Yemeni people in areas under their forced control. He stressed that only force could deter these militias, underscoring the necessity for all army personnel to be fully prepared to liberate the Yemeni people from the clutches of these terrorist groups.
This event underscores the Yemeni armed forces’ commitment to preparing its personnel for any challenges, emphasizing the importance of readiness in the face of ongoing threats to the country’s security and sovereignty.
