In a significant development for Yemen’s military readiness, the Chief of General Staff and Commander of Joint Operations, Lieutenant General Saghir bin Aziz, witnessed the graduation of the first Commando course and several specialized courses at the 55th Artillery Brigade. The event also marked the launch of the second phase of the 2024 training, operational, combat, and morale preparation year.

Leadership’s Salute to the Graduates

During the ceremony, Lieutenant General Saghir bin Aziz conveyed the political and military leadership’s greetings and appreciation to the members of the brigade. He praised the performance level of the first Commando course graduates and those from the specialized courses. He acknowledged the brigade’s sacrifices and bravery, highlighting its significant historical role over decades and its expected impactful contribution in the future.

The Chief of General Staff emphasized the importance of maintaining combat readiness and continuing with training and qualification programs. These efforts are crucial for the sacred national battle against the Houthi militia, a terrorist organization supported by the Iranian regime. “We are on a date with victory, which can only be achieved through diligent work, dedication, and continuous training,” he stated.

Training for Future Battles

Brigadier General Abdulilah Hafeez, commander of the 55th Artillery Brigade, explained that the specialized training courses received by the officers, non-commissioned officers, and soldiers are part of the armed forces’ training, qualification, and development plans. These preparations are essential for any upcoming battles against the Houthi terrorist organization.

The ceremony featured a military parade by symbolic companies of the specialized course graduates, showcasing the skills acquired during their training. Additionally, a live ammunition maneuver performed by the Commando course graduates demonstrated their combat skills in a simulated battle environment.

Honoring Excellence

The event, attended by the Reserve Forces Commander, Major General Faisal Ali, the Director of the Air Force and Air Defense College, Major General Ahmed Al-Bahsh, and several military leaders, concluded with an awards ceremony. The top performers and distinguished graduates from the courses were honored for their achievements.

This graduation and the initiation of an advanced training phase underscore Yemen’s commitment to enhancing its military capabilities and readiness in the face of ongoing threats. The focus on continuous improvement and preparation signals a robust approach to national defense and security.
