On Wednesday, the police in Aden announced a series of successful security operations. These efforts led to the arrest of a suspect involved in a knife attack, as well as the detention of 20 individuals linked to drug possession, trafficking, and use across various districts of the capital.
In a recent incident, Aden police apprehended a 29-year-old suspect, identified as A.N.A.M., for attacking Hael Said Maqbel Salem, a qat seller in the Tawahi market. The suspect stabbed Salem with a knife before fleeing the scene. Upon receiving the report, police units in Tawahi quickly mobilized and conducted extensive searches. Their efforts culminated in a successful operation that captured the suspect in a well-planned ambush outside the district. Authorities have placed him in custody to complete the legal procedures.
In a related development, Cairo police arrested M.K.M.Q.M., a suspect involved in a series of thefts targeting several retail stores. Captain Nazem Al-Jabiri, the head of the department, stated that the arrest followed thorough investigations and surveillance of the suspect’s movements. Coordination with the eighth sector of national security ensured the operation’s success.
The Drug Enforcement Administration of Aden, in collaboration with national security forces, announced the arrest of 20 individuals on charges of drug possession, trafficking, and use, including cannabis and banned pregabalin pills. These operations involved raids and ambushes executed in multiple districts. Major Miyas Haidra Al-Jadani, head of the Drug Enforcement Administration, emphasized that these actions are part of a broader security plan aimed at eliminating drug sources and apprehending traffickers. He praised the community’s role in reporting suspicious locations and confirmed that legal proceedings against the suspects are underway, preparing them for referral to the appropriate prosecutor’s office.
