Yemeni Investor Files Complaint Over Repeated Attacks on Tourism Project
Local Authorities Under Scrutiny
Yemeni investor Abdul Wahab Al-Aroumi has officially lodged a complaint with local authorities in Ibb Governorate. He claims that repeated attacks have targeted his properties and tourism projects, particularly the “East Resort” project located in the Shab’a Al-Jarash area of Jabal Badaan, within the Al-Mashanah district.
Allegations of Illegal Land Use
Al-Aroumi, who owns the Sinacor Investment Company, reported that a local official unlawfully constructed a road through his land. This action disrupted the entire project, causing significant setbacks. Despite having opportunities to invest abroad, Al-Aroumi chose to invest locally. He called for justice and urged authorities to protect the rights of investors in the region.
Growing Concerns Among Business Owners
This complaint highlights a troubling trend among business owners in Ibb and other areas. Many have reported violations against their properties and the imposition of illegal financial levies. As a result, numerous entrepreneurs have either shut down their operations or left these regions in search of safer environments for their businesses.
Conclusion
The situation underscores the urgent need for local authorities to address these issues and create a more secure atmosphere for investment. Investors like Al-Aroumi play a crucial role in the economic development of Yemen, and their protection is essential for fostering a thriving business climate.
