The Rased Center for Rights and Development, a member of the Yemeni Network for Victims’ Links, has condemned the "heinous crime" committed by Houthi militia against two sisters in the Al-Zahir district of Al-Bayda Governorate.
On Friday, a vehicle belonging to citizen Hussein Saleh Al-Barmani came under direct gunfire from a Houthi position. Tragically, this attack resulted in the death of his nine-year-old daughter, Bayan, while her 13-year-old sister sustained critical injuries.
The Rased Center emphasized that this deliberate targeting of civilians, especially children, constitutes a blatant violation of international humanitarian law and human rights. The organization highlighted the shocking disregard for basic humanitarian principles, noting that innocent lives continue to suffer in conflict zones.
In light of this incident, the Rased Center has called for an urgent, independent, and transparent investigation into the crime. They demand accountability for the perpetrators and those who support them. Furthermore, the organization urges the international community to condemn this criminal act and take necessary actions to prevent further violence against civilians.
