A gang robs expatriate land in Ibb province, reportedly under the protection of Houthi security forces.

Land Theft in Ibb: Expat's Property Targeted by Criminal Gang

A specialized gang has recently stolen land belonging to expatriate Mansour Mohammed Al-Saber in the Al-Jabajeb area, located south of Ibb city. This brazen act occurred under the protection of security personnel affiliated with the Houthi militia.

Criminal Activity Supported by Houthi Officials

According to informed sources, the gang constructed a complete building on the land just days before the Eid al-Fitr holiday. They exploited direct support from a militia security officer named Sadiq Gharab. The sources confirmed that the gang is involved in forging ownership documents, despite existing court orders for the arrest of its members.

Long-standing Ownership Disregarded

The land in question has belonged to Al-Saber and his family for decades, with documentation to prove their ownership. Nevertheless, the gang, backed by Houthi leaders, is attempting to seize the property using fraudulent documents.

Systematic Land Grabs in Ibb Since 2014

Since the Houthi coup in 2014, Ibb Governorate has witnessed systematic land theft and property seizures. These operations are led by gangs supported by Houthi leadership, including individuals from outside the province. The ongoing situation raises serious concerns about property rights and the rule of law in the region.

This alarming trend highlights the need for increased vigilance and legal action to protect citizens’ rights against such criminal activities.
