Weather Forecast: Mild Days and Chilly Nights Ahead

The General Authority for Civil Aviation and Meteorology’s Weather Forecast and Early Warning Center has predicted that coastal areas will experience mild weather during the day and relatively cool to cold temperatures at night and in the early morning. The forecast for today, Friday, indicates partly to mostly cloudy skies with a chance of light, scattered rain along parts of the western coast. Moderate winds will pick up along the southwestern coasts and Bab al-Mandab.
Mountainous Regions: Cold and Dry Conditions
According to the daily weather report, which the Yemen News Agency (Saba) received, the mountainous regions will continue to experience dry and cold weather, particularly at night and in the early morning. There is a possibility of fog and low clouds forming in some areas, along with scattered rain in parts of the western highlands. Meanwhile, desert and plateau regions will remain generally dry and clear, with moderate daytime temperatures and very cold nights. Winds in these areas will be moderate to active, stirring up dust and sand.

The forecast center has provided specific temperature predictions for today, Friday. In coastal areas, the expected high and low temperatures are as follows:
- Aden: 30°C / 22°C
- Mukalla: 30°C / 22°C
- Hodeidah: 29°C / 22°C
- Socotra: 30°C / 19°C
- Mokha: 31°C / 23°C
- Al-Ghaydah: 29°C / 20°C
- Zinjibar: 31°C / 22°C
- Lahij: 30°C / 20°C
In desert and plateau regions, temperatures are expected to be:
- Sayun: 33°C / 14°C
- Marib: 31°C / 15°C
- Ataq: 30°C / 16°C
- Bayhan: 30°C / 14°C
For mountainous areas, the forecast is as follows:
- Sana’a: 29°C / 08°C
- Taiz: 28°C / 11°C
- Dhamar: 26°C / 04°C
- Al-Dhale: 26°C / 11°C
- Ibb: 28°C / 09°C
- Al-Bayda: 26°C / 05°C
Safety Warnings for Citizens
The center has reiterated its warning to residents in high-altitude mountainous areas about low temperatures. Citizens, especially children and the elderly, should take necessary precautions. Additionally, the center cautioned drivers in mountainous regions about reduced visibility due to fog formation.
Marine Conditions: Caution for Fishermen and Mariners
In its daily marine report, the Weather Forecast and Early Warning Center anticipates that sea conditions along the coasts of Al-Mahrah, Hadramaut, Shabwa, Abyan, and Aden will be calm. The Socotra Archipelago will see light to moderate waves, while the waters off Bab al-Mandab and the western coasts will experience moderate waves. The center also predicts light waves in the Arabian Sea and light to moderate waves in the Gulf of Aden. However, the Red Sea may experience moderate to rough waves. The center has issued a warning to fishermen, sea-goers, and ship captains in Bab al-Mandab and the southwestern coasts about potential sea disturbances and strong winds.
