Dr. Abdullah Al-Eleimi Arrives in Baku for COP29 Climate Summit

Dr. Abdullah Al-Eleimi, a member of Yemen’s Presidential Leadership Council, arrived today in Baku, Azerbaijan. He leads Yemen’s delegation at the 29th Conference of the Parties to the United Nations Framework Convention on Climate Change (COP29). This international event plays a crucial role in addressing global climate challenges.

Warm Welcome at the Airport

Upon his arrival at Baku International Airport, Dr. Al-Eleimi received a warm welcome from Azerbaijan’s Minister of Youth and Sports, Firdovsi Geybov, along with several other officials. This reception highlights the importance of international cooperation in tackling climate issues.

Key Discussions on Climate Change

The COP29 summit will feature extensive discussions on reducing global warming and its devastating impacts. Delegates from various countries will address financial commitments to assist impoverished nations facing increased heatwaves, storms, and floods due to climate change. Also joining them is Ambassador Ahmed Al-Sharabi, head of the Organizations Department at the Ministry of Foreign Affairs. Together, they represent Yemen’s commitment to addressing climate change on a global stage.
