Houthi militia continues abductions in Ibb to suppress celebrations of the glorious September 26 Revolution.

Houthi Militia Continues Kidnapping Campaign in Ibb

In a recent surge of repressive actions, the Houthi militia has intensified its kidnapping campaign in Ibb Governorate, aiming to suppress any popular movements planning to celebrate the anniversary of the glorious September 26 Revolution.

Targeted Abductions

Local sources reported that last night, the Houthi militia abducted Captain Fahd Amin Aburas from his home in Al Qa’ida city, south of Ibb Governorate. His abduction came after he showed solidarity with Sheikh Amin Rajeh and his companions, who the militia had kidnapped the previous Wednesday. These individuals were targeted for their calls to celebrate the September 26 Revolution.

Furthermore, in the city of Ibb, the militia kidnapped two young men, Amjad Marai from Ahwal Ramadan neighborhood and Yahya Al-Jaashni from the old city area. Their abduction was due to their involvement in organizing celebrations for the revolution’s anniversary.

Widespread Crackdown

These recent kidnappings are part of a broader wave of abductions that has affected at least 20 individuals in Ibb Governorate over the past few days. The targets are activists determined to commemorate the September 26 Revolution, which the Houthi militia vehemently opposes.

The continuous efforts by the Houthi militia to quell celebratory events and silence voices of dissent highlight the ongoing struggle for freedom and expression in the region. As the militia tightens its grip, the international community and human rights organizations watch closely, calling for the immediate release of those unjustly detained and for the restoration of peace and democratic freedoms in Yemen.
