Presidential Delegation Arrives in Taiz
On Tuesday, Rashad Mohammed Al-Alimi, the President of Yemen’s Presidential Leadership Council, along with council members Dr. Abdullah Al-Alimi and Sheikh Osman Majali, and several senior state officials, made a landmark visit to the province of Taiz. This visit marks the first presidential tour to a region renowned for its steadfast resistance against the Houthi militias supported by the Iranian regime, symbolizing one of the greatest bastions of endurance in the critical battle for the nation’s future.
Engagements and Objectives
During their stay, President Al-Alimi and the council members held extensive meetings with local authority leaders, the executive office, military and security commanders, political and social figures, women and youth groups, media representatives, and civil society organizations. The discussions aimed to brief them on the latest national developments and outline the priorities for the upcoming phase across various levels.
In statements to the Yemeni News Agency (SABA) and other media outlets, President Al-Alimi expressed his and the council members’ pleasure in visiting Taiz, acknowledging the legendary resilience of its people alongside the armed forces and popular resistance against the Iranian-backed Houthi project.
President Al-Alimi emphasized that Taiz would continue to be a pillar for the national project, the cradle of change, and the capital of resistance, which has been demonstrated over years of unjust siege by the Houthi militias.
The meetings in the province focused on enhancing livelihoods, improving services, and mobilizing all energies towards the goal of liberation. In this context, President Al-Alimi praised the humanitarian and developmental interventions by the Saudi-led coalition and the United Arab Emirates in Taiz, highlighting their significant impact at all levels.
Warm Welcome and Future Commitments
Upon arrival, the presidential delegation was warmly received by Taiz Governor Nabil Shamsan, members of the Parliament and Shura Council, deputy governors, military and security leaders, executive office directors, social figures, political party representatives, civil society organizations, and crowds of citizens lining the streets in welcome.
The convoy made several stops en route to Taiz city, where President Al-Alimi exchanged greetings and gratitude with the citizens, who voiced their loyalty to Yemen and its republican system.
Accompanying the President and council members were key advisors and officials, including the President’s Defense Advisor, General Mahmoud Al-Subaihi, and deputies of the Consultation and Reconciliation Commission, along with ministers of Information, Culture and Tourism, Planning and International Cooperation, Youth and Sports, Interior, and other senior officials and diplomats.
This historic visit underscores the Yemeni leadership’s commitment to addressing the challenges facing Taiz and the nation at large, fostering a spirit of resilience and unity against adversities.
