Ongoing Violent Clashes in Taiz
Violent confrontations continue between the Yemeni Armed Forces, supported by popular resistance, and the Houthi militia, which receives backing from the Iranian regime. This escalation coincides with intensive airstrikes targeting militia elements and equipment in Taiz Governorate.
The Taiz Military Axis issued a brief statement on Tuesday, confirming that the armed forces are engaged in direct confrontations with the Houthi militia on the Al-Shuqab front, southeast of Taiz. The forces continue offensive operations to reclaim new positions.
Intensive Airstrikes
In a separate statement, the military axis reported that the armed forces’ warplanes conducted nine airstrikes targeting militia gatherings and vehicles in the surrounding fronts of the city. The strikes included:
- Five airstrikes in the Al-Dhabab front west of the city
- Four airstrikes in the Al-Masrak district to the south
Additionally, the air force executed four strikes on militia gatherings and weapons in Milat, Al-Dhabab, last night. These attacks resulted in the destruction of a 23 mm cannon, a 106 mm cannon, and a tank, along with casualties among the militia ranks.
Ground Advancements by Armed Forces
This escalation follows hours after the army and popular resistance forces regained military positions west of Taiz. Following intense battles with the militia, the forces liberated the Al-Muqabbah, Al-Khazan, and Al-Hamra hills in the Al-Dhabab area. The confrontations continue as they aim to regain control over the Al-Sayah area.
