Yemeni Foreign Minister Commends Jordan’s Support for Legitimacy
The Yemeni Minister of Foreign Affairs and Expatriates, Dr. Afrah Al-Zouba, praised the steadfast brotherly positions of the Hashemite Kingdom of Jordan, led by His Majesty King Abdullah II, in supporting constitutional legitimacy and backing the Presidential Leadership Council and the Yemeni government.

During her meeting today with the President of the Jordanian Senate, Faisal Al-Fayez, the minister emphasized the significance of Arab solidarity in supporting Yemen during this critical phase. She highlighted the Yemeni government’s commitment to enhancing coordination and cooperation with Jordan to address shared challenges.
Current Situation in Yemen
Al-Zouba reviewed the developments in Yemen and the efforts to end the Houthi militia’s coup and restore state institutions. She asserted that establishing state authority across the entire national territory is essential for protecting Yemenis and preserving their country’s unity and sovereignty. Furthermore, she stressed the need to prevent the exploitation of Yemen’s resources to serve the agenda of the Iranian regime. Supporting the Yemeni people’s right to restore their state represents a cornerstone for safeguarding regional security.
Jordan’s Position on Yemeni Legitimacy
In response, the President of the Jordanian Senate reaffirmed Jordan’s unwavering stance in supporting Yemeni legitimacy and its solidarity with the government in restoring its institutions. He commended the efforts aimed at enabling the state to assert its authority over all Yemeni territories and restore security and stability. Additionally, he reiterated Jordan’s rejection of direct Iranian aggression or through its proxies in the region, emphasizing the importance of protecting regional security and respecting international law.
