Houthi Militias Target Civilians in Taiz, Causing Casualties
The Taiz Human Rights Center (THRC) condemned the Houthi militias for targeting civilians today, Monday, at the Al-Hangar checkpoint on the western entrance of Taiz city. The attack involved artillery shelling, resulting in the death of one civilian and injuring six others among travelers.
Details of the Attack
The center reported that the shelling occurred at 5 PM. The monitoring team documented the death of 21-year-old Abduljabbar Hael Said and the injuries of the following individuals:
- 25-year-old Mufeed Abdulmajid
- 28-year-old Afaf Nasr Ahmed Ali
- 55-year-old Mona Ali Saif
- 26-year-old Abdulaziz Amin Ali
- 44-year-old Fayez Said Mohammed
- 28-year-old Nada Idris Ma’mar
Responsibility and Call for Action
The THRC held the Houthi militias fully responsible for the incident. The center emphasized that targeting civilians constitutes a serious violation of international humanitarian law.
