On Sunday, the armed forces regained control of areas infiltrated by Houthi militias in western Taiz Governorate. Simultaneously, army units advanced towards new regions, supported by precise airstrikes targeting militia gatherings and reinforcements across various parts of the governorate.
Military Source Reports Significant Gains
A military source in the Taiz axis reported that forces reclaimed positions overlooking the Jurdad area in the Al-Shamayatayn district. They advanced towards Ghayl Bani Omar as part of operations aimed at expelling Houthi militias from the entire governorate. The source added that the forces seized military equipment and inflicted heavy casualties on the militias during the confrontations.
Airstrikes Destroy Military Assets
Alongside the ground advance, warplanes launched a series of targeted airstrikes on militia positions and vehicles in the following districts:
- Dhobab
- Al-Wazi’iyah
- Hifan
Additionally, an airstrike targeted a gathering of Houthi fighters in the Al-Afira area of the Jabal Habashi district, resulting in:
- The destruction of several military vehicles
- An explosion of a stockpile of medium-caliber ammunition
- The deaths of at least ten militants
