Yemen Participates in the 52nd Arab Labor Conference in Cairo

The Republic of Yemen participated today in the 52nd session of the Arab Labor Conference, organized by the Arab Labor Organization in Cairo, Egypt. The Yemeni delegation was led by the Minister of Social Affairs and Labor, Mukhtar Al-Yafai.

Conference Focus and Discussions

The conference, which will last for one week, includes representatives from the three production parties of 21 Arab countries. It features labor ministers, heads of delegations, and representatives from employers, workers, and various Arab, regional, and international organizations. The agenda covers several key topics related to the future of work in the Arab region. These topics include sustainable economic growth, comprehensive and equitable social development, the impact of climate change on the work environment, and the enhancement of occupational safety and health while adapting to climate risks.

Additionally, the conference will explore the role of emerging institutions and the opportunities they provide amid digital transformation. It will also address skill development and alignment with labor market needs, promote employment, tackle unemployment, and discuss ways to enhance Arab cooperation and exchange experiences among Arab countries.

Recognition of Leadership

The General Secretariat of the Arab Labor Organization honored Minister Mukhtar Al-Yafai for his leadership during the 51st session of the Arab Labor Conference. This recognition acknowledges Yemen’s contributions during its presidency in supporting the conference’s activities and enhancing Arab cooperation on labor issues.
