This ceremony coincided with the 36th anniversary of Yemen’s reunification on May 22, 1990, underscoring the importance of military education in the context of national unity.

Commitment to Military Values and Professionalism

In his address, Major General bin Aziz extended congratulations to the graduates on their achievement and conveyed greetings from the political and military leadership. He urged the new officers to uphold the national military values and professionalism that are essential in maintaining the integrity of the armed forces. The general emphasized the importance of military discipline and combat readiness, reminding the graduates that they represent a critical asset for Yemen’s military and play a foundational role in its institutional development.

Promoting Unity and Rejecting Partisanship

Major General bin Aziz also addressed the pressing need for unity within the armed forces, urging graduates to reject partisanship, regionalism, and tribalism. He highlighted that such divisions are prohibited under the Yemeni constitution. The general pointed out the detrimental effects of the Houthi militia’s coup on state institutions, particularly in the educational and military sectors, which have suffered significant disruption and degradation as a result.

Furthermore, he recognized Marib as a national stronghold, describing it as a secure and stable fortress. The Chief of Staff praised the role of the Saudi-led Coalition in supporting Yemen’s legitimacy, particularly during the reopening of the Air and Air Defense College three years ago, a critical period when the nation required specialized military personnel.
