Routes of Arrival and Demographics
The report provides insights into the various routes taken by these migrants:
- 67% arrived via the coasts of Djibouti, landing primarily in the governorates of Abyan and Taiz.
- 28% came from the coasts of Somalia, with all migrants reaching Shabwa.
- 5% entered from Oman, arriving in Al-Mahrah.
Demographically, the IOM noted that men constituted 65% of the total arrivals, while children accounted for 18%, and women made up 17% of the migrant population.
