Minister of Youth and Sports Discusses National Youth Empowerment Plan
On Sunday, Naif Al-Bakri, the Minister of Youth and Sports, convened a meeting in the temporary capital of Aden with the Youth Working Group. The primary focus was to discuss the implementation of the National Youth Empowerment Plan, aimed at enhancing the role of youth in development.
Preparations for Upcoming Workshops
During the meeting, participants reviewed the latest preparations for two upcoming workshops. These workshops will focus on reinforcing the concepts of the plan, targeting ministry leaders and staff. Additionally, they discussed the priorities of the plan, which will be executed in collaboration with international organizations, government entities, active youth, and representatives from the private sector.
Acknowledgment of Efforts
The meeting included the presence of the ministry’s deputies, Dr. Azam Khalifa and Dr. Munir Lamah. Minister Al-Bakri praised the Youth Working Group for their efforts in the previous phase, highlighting their coordination in preparing the National Youth Empowerment Plan.
Transitioning from Planning to Implementation
Al-Bakri emphasized the importance of moving from the planning stage to practical implementation. He stressed that this transition is crucial for achieving the desired objectives and making a tangible impact on the lives of young people.
Establishing a Unified Youth Work Platform
The minister called for the establishment of a dedicated platform for youth work. This initiative aims to unify efforts and enhance coordination among various stakeholders, ensuring efficient and effective program execution. Furthermore, he underscored the need to prepare a comprehensive file detailing the plan’s outputs and specifics. This file will be submitted to the government for approval and support.
Key Components of the National Plan
The National Youth Empowerment Plan encompasses four main pillars: health and well-being, participation and inclusion, system enhancement, and education for employment. These components aim to create a holistic approach to youth development.
This initiative marks a significant step towards empowering the youth and fostering their active participation in societal development.
