Yemen Participates in 51st OIC Foreign Ministers Meeting in Istanbul

The Republic of Yemen actively participated today in the 51st session of the Council of Foreign Ministers of the Organization of Islamic Cooperation (OIC) held in Istanbul, Turkey. The Yemeni delegation was led by Dr. Sha’if Al-Zandani, the Minister of Foreign Affairs and Expatriates.

Opening Remarks Highlight Collective Efforts

The opening session began with a speech from Cameroon’s Minister of Foreign Relations, Lejeune Mbella Mbella. He highlighted the key achievements during Cameroon’s presidency of the previous session. Mbella emphasized the importance of continued collective action to address the challenges facing the Islamic world.

Turkey Takes the Helm

Following the opening remarks, Turkish Foreign Minister Hakan Fidan was elected as the president of the current session. In his address, Fidan expressed Turkey’s commitment to strengthening Islamic cooperation. He underscored the necessity of solidarity in tackling both regional and international issues.

Yemen’s Commitment to Collaborative Solutions

Yemen’s participation underscores its commitment to actively engage in discussions on priority political, humanitarian, and economic issues. The country aims to enhance coordination with member states to support collective Islamic efforts.
