Prime Minister Calls for Enhanced Coordination in Health Sector

In a recent meeting held in the temporary capital of Aden, Prime Minister Salem Saleh bin Brek emphasized the need for improved collaboration among ministries, local authorities, and relevant organizations. This initiative aims to bolster the role of the Ministry of Public Health and Population in combating the spread of epidemics and fevers through effective preventive measures.

Urgent Health Interventions Required

During the National Health Emergency Coordination Committee meeting, Prime Minister bin Brek stressed the importance of implementing planned interventions and enhancing readiness within the health sector. He highlighted the necessity of strengthening partnerships with donor countries and humanitarian organizations to support ongoing efforts against health crises. The Prime Minister called for coordinated actions to contain epidemics and fevers, focusing on identifying actual needs and developing comprehensive waste management plans. He also underscored the importance of monitoring food and beverage safety, as well as tracking incoming diseases, particularly those associated with illegal migrants.

Community Awareness Campaigns Essential

In addition, bin Brek urged for increased community awareness through continuous media campaigns. These campaigns should educate the public about the risks associated with epidemics and fevers, as well as effective prevention methods. He stressed the need to change harmful behaviors that contribute to the spread of these diseases. The Prime Minister commended the efforts of the Ministry of Public Health and Population and medical staff, acknowledging their dedication despite current challenges.
